We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cook to join our team.

Flexible working hours available for the right candidate: start time/end time to be discussed with the Manager.

As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals in a fast-paced kitchen environment. If you have a passion for cooking and baking, we would love to hear from you.

We are currently recruiting a Part Time passionate Cook, for one of our Care homes.

This role involves planning and presenting high quality meals for our residents living at the Care Home.

Ideally we are looking for someone who has experience working with in a similar environment, but full training will be given; passion and creativity in the kitchen is a must.

What will you be doing?

Your mains responsibilities will be:

• Prepare and cook meals according to recipes and established standards
• To prepare and cook a well-balanced, nutritious, and tasty diet.
• To provide for our resident’s preferences and dietary requirements.
• Maintain a clean and environment, in accordance with the relevant legislation and guidelines.
• Assist with meal preparation, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and preparing sauces
• Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, ovens, and fryers
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area
• Follow food safety guidelines to ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of food
• Collaborate with the kitchen and care team to ensure smooth operations
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate any shortages or discrepancies

What experience do you need?

Previous experience as a Cook or similar role in a food service establishment desirable.

• Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and food preparation methods
• Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills to ensure timely meal preparation
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices

A cooking qualification and Food Hygiene Certificate is preferred, and there will be opportunities for further training and development.

You will be working at Summerhill Residential Home.

Reporting to the Registered Manager, you will join a supportive and highly professional team.

Shift pattern:

• Part-time work, shift work, working a mix of weekend and weekdays
